Bucephalandra sp. “Kedagang”

Bucephalandra sp. “Kedagang” is a small fascinating Bucephalandra variant, which is still very rare in the hobby. The longish leaves grow to a length of around 4 cm and to a width of 0.8 cm, they are curved, have a strongly undulate margin and a short stalk. Their upper side is dark brown to green with a blueish shine and a lot of tiny silvery dots. The leaf underside is of a silvery white to pale purple. The rhizomes and the young leaf stalks are wine red. The rhizome has a creeping to ascending growth habit and branches readily. Thus the plant will grow into a large group over time. In the aquarium it flowers only very seldom. In comparison with other Bucephalandra variants, “Kedagang” is a rather fast grower. It does not have high demands, but under medium to high light and a good CO₂ supply and ample nutrient levels it is the most beautiful. We have been cultivating Bucephalandra sp. “Kedagang” for several years in our tanks.
You will receive a rhizome of about 3-5 cm in length with at least 5 leaves.
